Ashley, one of our California 4-H State Ambassadors, is now a semi-finalist for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation undergaduate scholarship! She attributes this opportunity to her involvement in 4-H. @california4h 4-H has opened so many doors for myself and my future, whether that be academically, or professionally. When I first joined 4-H, I was a shy little kid with no direction guiding me, and it was only through the amazing 4-H program that I was able to find my purpose of public speaking. This is the main reason that I am lucky enough to be in the position that I am today of potentially getting to transfer to a top university here in Southern California, with the hopes of receiving what's essentially a full-ride scholarship! If you're not already familiar, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation (JKCF) offers amazing scholarship opportunities from the 7th grade, all the way up to transferring community college students like myself. The one I am a Semifinalist for, the Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, covers up to $55,000 per year for 2-3 years to help a student complete their undergraduate education debt-free.
These opportunities are just incredible, so I just wanted everyone in the California 4-H Program to be aware of this all. Above all else, I just wanted to thank the California 4-H Program from the bottom of my heart for helping me to become beyond ready for my future!
