Citrus Thrips Field Day At Lindcove REC On April 7, 2026

EXTERNAL IMAGE
Citrus thrips remain a key pest affecting citrus fruit quality in California. Citrus thrips feeding on young fruit causes scarring and rind blemishes that reduce fruit quality and market value, especially for fresh-market citrus. Second, thrips populations build rapidly during bloom and early fruit development, making timely monitoring and management essential to prevent outbreaks. Third, uncontrolled infestations can lead to repeated pesticide applications, increasing production costs and the risk of resistance, which complicates long-term pest management. Citrus IPM program brings you a field day focused on citrus thrips!
Join us on April 7 from 9-11 AM at the Lindcove Research and Extension Center for a hands-on Citrus Thrips Field Day for PCAs, field scouts, and citrus growers. Participants will learn to identify life stages of citrus thrips and western flower thrips, recognize predatory mites, and review effective monitoring techniques. The program will also highlight recent pesticide trial results and discuss practical thrips management strategies to support informed pest management decisions in citrus orchards. Register here. Full Agenda Here. 2 CE hours pending approval.
