Have you been wondering what happens to the material that is collected in the green waste cans? We wondered about that too! With this in mind, a group of UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners toured the City of Modesto's Compost Facility on 7001 Jennings Road.

Over thousands of years, the indigenous people of California used native plants in myriad ways for food, medicine, shelter, spiritual ceremonies, clothing, tools, and basketry. Some continue to practice the traditions, skills, and customs of their ancestors today.
