2018 ANR Statewide Conference

ANR Conference
UCCE Tulare/ King's County attended the 2018 UC ANR Statewide Conference in Ontario, California. We had the opportunity to unite with our ANR colleagues from around the state to network and share our work. Our county took advantage of this event to highlight physical activity integration, which included our walking clubs and bailoterapia. Walking clubs and Biloterapia have successfully made an impact in Tulare and King's Counties at encouraging adults to engage in and increase physical activity. We also presented three posters that highlighted our success stories and focused on our Healthy School Farmer's Markets and how we empower students, teachers, and parents with knowledge to make healthful choices. Glenda Humiston, UC ANR Vice President, was extremely impressed with the hard work that Tulare and Kings counties do to positively impact our communities to lead a healthy life.

This conference also provided opportunities for our team to participate in several training sessions to expand our knowledge in communications, skill building, managing work life, relationship building, community impact, and so much more!  We intent to use the knowledge and skills we gained in these training sessions to help us enhance program delivery in our communities and to help improve the lives of those we serve.
