Dr. John Madsen (USDA-ARS Invasive Species and Pollinator Health, Davis, CA) just received the 2020 Outstanding Scientist Award from the Northeast Aquatic Plant Management Society.
The IR4 program conducts a significant amount of research to facilitate registration of pesticides (both conventional and biopesticides) on specialty crops. The program also supports similar work on a range of non-food crops through the Environmental Horticulture program.
New Risk Assessments Just Posted for Invasive Weeds The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service ?recently posted Weed Risk Assessments for a dozen new weeds of concern. Eleven of the 12 are already documented in the West.
The California Weed Science Society met two weeks ago in Monterey. As always, it was an excellent conference with numerous informative sessions across all aspects of weed management in the state.
