As 2025 unfolds, UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Sonoma County enters an exciting new era—guided by a regional leadership model designed to strengthen collaboration, optimize resources, and deepen our impact across the North Bay.
In March, Lauren Cartwright was appointed as the new UCCE Area Director for Marin, Napa, and Sonoma counties. Lauren lives with her family in Santa Rosa on what they affectionately call The Cartwright Homestead. She moved to the North Bay to attend Sonoma State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economic, Political, and Social Development and Masters of Business Administration with a focus on Wine Business Strategies.
A longtime Sonoma County resident with nearly two decades of experience in local government, economic development, and the wine industry, Lauren brings an understanding of the region’s agricultural landscape and a passion for community-based solutions. Her leadership promises to bring new momentum and strategic direction to our programs and partnerships.
As our partners and clientele, please join us in welcoming Lauren to our shared programs, partnerships, and collaborations. Lauren is already providing support to our internal teams, meeting with area partners, and contributing her skills and expertise to collaborations. With her experience in county government and economic development, Lauren is and will be an asset and ally for supporting UCCE’s research and education strengths through local partnerships and solution delivery.
Welcome to the team Lauren!
