After an extensive open search, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Bethanie Brown as Executive Director – Human Resources for UC Agriculture and Natural Resources, effective December 1, 2024. Bethanie has been with the University of California for 25 years, 14 years of which have been with ANR. Most recently she served as Chief Human Resources Officer & Interim Executive Director since March 2021.

As of 11:59 p.m. at the conclusion of GivingTuesday 2024, generous donors gave $106,334 for UC Cooperative Extension and the statewide programs, institutes and research centers that make up UC ANR..
This show of support demonstrates the impact you are having in your communities and the value that donors place on our work.
An additional $10,000 in incentive funds will be distributed for qualifying gifts. These funds were given throughout the year for our ANR Incentive Fund, which is used to encourage donor engagement and increased giving to all ANR programs. Additional funds were provided by donors to the CA 4-H Foundation to inspire giving to the California 4-H program.

The new University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources Foundation has been established to advance UC ANR's essential research and extension mission.
The foundation – to be incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization following approval by UC President Michael Drake in October – will support programs that promote California's agriculture and food systems; natural ecosystems and working landscapes; and healthy and thriving communities.
