I am pleased to announce that the request for proposals for ANR's 2017 competitive grants program is now released and can be found at http://ucanr.edu/compgrants2017.
In addition to releasing our competitive grants call, I would like to share information on a couple of newly developed funding opportunities: “high risk/high reward grants program” and “opportunity grants program.” Below are descriptions of the three different funding mechanisms.

The five strategic initiative panels have reviewed the 168 letters of intent submitted for ANR’s 2012 competitive grants program to identify strong substantive connections to the initiative priorities. Last year 109 LOIs were submitted. The strategic initiative panels have invited authors of 79 LOIs to submit full proposals. Applicants selected to submit a full proposal have been notified and their full proposals will be due Friday, April 13.

Letters of Intent for ANR’s 2012 competitive grants program are due Friday, Feb. 17. The submission system will close automatically at 11:59 p.m., Feb. 17.
Applicants who are selected to submit a full proposal will be notified by Monday, March 5. The LOIs that are approved will be posted for online viewing. Full proposals will be due Friday, April 13.
The RFP is posted at http://ucanr.edu/files/134928.pdf. To submit a Letter of Intent, please log into your ANR Portal and locate the Universal Review System. Under “Open Systems,” click on “ANR Competitive Grants 2012.”

County directors to discuss fundraising
Don Klingborg will be holding conference calls with the county directors to discuss fundraising in the counties.
