Coordinate a community pollinator walk, visit a local school and teach about water conservation, or have an open house at your demonstration garden and add it to our California food map. On May 8, 1914, President Wilson signed the Smith-Lever Act and established the national Cooperative Extension Service, which strongly tied service, science and citizen participation together in scientific enterprises.
