Higher ed cyberattacks
Cyberattacks on higher education institutions are on the rise. Universities with medical centers and substantial research profiles were identified as the most vulnerable to cyberattack. Federally funded research is also at risk from cyberespionage. According to a recent Pandemic Impact Survey, there is an increase in cyberattacks targeting employees who are working from home.

Effective June 22, 2018, California prohibits state-funded and state-sponsored travel to Oklahoma as a result of discriminatory legislation Oklahoma signed into law on May 11, 2018, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced.

To my knowledge, no UC ANR academics have been detained. However, the travel restrictions could deter UC ANR members from the affected countries from traveling outside the U.S. to events that may be important to their work. ANR will be making additional travel support available for UCCE specialists to collaborate with UCCE advisors in FY 2014/15. With the level of funds available, each specialist may apply for up to $2,000 for FY 2014/15 (funds must be expended by June 30, 2015). These travel funds must be utilized by the UCCE specialists only and cannot be used for out-of-state travel.
