A little more than a year ago, the Division finalized the Strategic Vision: 2025. The document was the first step in a strategic planning process to address the challenges we face and provide the scientific and technological breakthroughs California needs to compete in a global economy, ensure a safe nutritious food supply, conserve natural resources, and keep Californians healthy. Nine multidisciplinary, integrated initiatives were presented, which represent the best opportunities for ANR’s considerable infrastructure and talent to seek new resources and new ways of partnering within and outside UC to find solutions for California.

The Sustainable Natural Ecosystems Strategic Initiative Draft Plan is now available for review at http://ucanr.org/sites/NRCC_2010/.
People who plan on attending the ANR Natural Resources Coordinating Conference (NRCC) on June 28 – 30 should read the draft plan and come prepared to give input about it. The UC ANR Natural Resources Coordinating Conference is set for June 28-30. ANR academics and members of selected workgroups should plan to attend and discuss how the Sustainable Natural Ecosystem Initiative can best implement its part of the ANR Strategic Vision.
The conference will be held at the Lion's Gate Hotel at 3410 Westover in McClellan (just northwest of Sacramento).
