I want to thank all of you for your hard work to make our May 8 UC Cooperative Extension centennial celebration a success statewide. I am so impressed with the way everyone in the Division pulled together and got our partners involved in publicizing the Be a Scientist project and the local events in the counties. We had a tremendous response.

We need your help! With one week to go before our May 8 Day of Science and Service, we need your help to encourage people throughout California to participate. One easy way to do this is to join our Thunderclap campaign: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/10528-beascientist
Once we get 100 sign-ups, it will activate a social media blast on May 8 to our Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr accounts. If you sign up, the following message will be sent on May 8 to your friends and followers:

- Plan a local activity on your campus, REC or county office. Coordinate a community pollinator walk, visit a local school and teach about water conservation, or have an open house at your demonstration garden and add it to our California food map.
