We had one of these babies out in Cherry Glen. I was painting the fence one day, turned, rammed one of those thorns into my thigh and bled like the proverbial stuck pig. But they are pretty cool to look at! :-)

I am crazy about this article --I copied for my file-- I have a few of these in my front yard along with various other cacti, succulents, and native california plants. It is both easier and more interesting than mere grass. Plus it takes less water -- much less water!
