Wow, using this logic, it's better to truck water in from out of state to lower the "drought water" use within CA commodities. Sounds affordable and sustainable to me.

This is a very interesting and thought provoking study. Thank you for providing it. I have one comment related to this sentence: "The water embedded in feed shipped into California may be relevant to a drought in Nebraska, Idaho, Alberta, or some other state or province from which the feed is shipped, but it is not part of the drought-relevant water allocated in California." In my opinion, just because it's not California water doesn't mean we can disregard it. It's still a natural resource that should be considered. I would be interested to know how the states that produce the feed are doing at managing their water resources. Thank you!
