Good references for home gardeners needing more specific information about herbicides and other weed management tools are the UC IPM Pest Notes: Weed Management in Landscapes http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7441.html and Weed Management in Lawns http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn74113.html

It should be noted that most organic or least-toxic herbicides are contact poison and have no systemic action . Thus, the users need to apply more products and have limited residual activity.

Informative post by Whitney Brim-DeForest! The FAQs provide clarity on herbicides, distinguishing between pesticides and herbicides. The cautionary insights on DIY herbicides and their potential impact on soil and plants are valuable. Emphasizing the importance of reading labels when purchasing herbicides adds a practical touch. A concise and helpful guide!
