Loved reading this piece Heidi! What a great topic. My favorite backyard weed by far is the Morning Glory! I can see why this lovable vine has a bad reputation. I am constantly weeding out the volunteers of this prolific pest but it's beautiful flowers have won a special place in my heart so I will willing put in the work to tame it and show it who's boss.

Thank you Heidi for your informative article. I have a question for the master gardeners. I’m using a predrilled drip system in my garden 2 boxes about 4x8. The holes have become clogged and non functioning. What is the best way to water in raised beds? I live in a Modesto and they are in the full sun all day. Thanks, Patty.

Hi Heidi,
I enjoyed reading your article. It was interesting, informative and entertaining!
My garden has received an abundance of TLC the last several weeks. We’ve
already harvested a small crop of radishes and planted another batch.
This years garden has provided much needed calm and escape during this
difficult time our world is experiencing.

Enjoyed your article on weeding. I’d add Ornamental Onions!!!
Beautiful white flowers during their season. Over the years it spread throughout the yard. We have finally we cleared them out. Fairly sure they will return next season - the battle is on!!!

Thanks for this post. I recently went to the memorial for a women I highly regarded. Her family handed out beautiful packets of forget-me-knots as a way to "remember" her. I really wanted to plant them, but thought I should check whether they are considered a native in my area (San Diego). I live immediately next to Mission Trails Regional Park, and do my best to only use natives. I am grateful that my internet search turned up your post. Keep up the good work!
