Grasshopers? What about Crickets? Every year my yard is attacked by what I have determinded are Green Bush Crickets. They lay eggs in my garden, the babies hatch and the battle begins. The first year before I knew what they were they almost ate my entire garden. No one could tell me what they were, I called everyone. None of my neighbors have flower gardens like I do so they don't seem to notice. They absolutely love the Monarda so I am going to remove all of that the end of this year. It's a shame because that is the bees favorite too.
