Oh, my goodness, I have the same pest in my garden! The color, size and genus is identical. Thanks, Erin, for this humorous post. Gardeners need a chuckle.

I had a couple of these for years except ours were var. black. Ours enjoyed munching on my very first crop of Cantaloupe, rinds and all!

Erin: Loved your blog and can feel your pain. We had a yellow lab (Annie) who climbed into our peach tree and with a long reach, pulled the ripe peaches off for her snack. She loved tomatoes, too. Not the green ones-oh no, just the ones turning red. The garden was her daily "treat".
