Produce at the market

Food waste in current food system is estimated to be about 40%. Reducing that to even 20% could feed the expanding population. The quest for endless higher production is causing unnecessary stress on our environment.
Moreover, most modern economists believe that global hunger is primarily due to poverty NOT insufficient food production.

Thanks for sharing your insight Prakash! You bring up excellent points. We've actually posted a few other blog posts on this topic - I urge you to read them and let us know what you think. Particularly the blog post titled Hunger and Food Justice, with the video by Anuradha Mittal.
