How to Join 4-H

4-H offers limitless opportunities for friendship, growth, fun, and development. By engaging youth and adults in meaningful partnerships, 4-H helps young people to reach their full potential as competent, confident, leaders of character who contribute and are connected to their communities.

Project Information

Each year, a 4-H member enrolls in at least one project. Members participating for the first time may be encouraged to take on only one or two projects. As members gain experience, the size or depth of the project may increase or additional projects may be selected.

Record Books & New Achievement Program

The 4-H program has a long history of record keeping. The focus reflects the importance of this life skill in our daily lives. In 4-H, young people have tracked their activities, events, profits and losses, skill development and learning experiences, and much more using the iconic 4-H Record Book.

Record Book Resources

Handwritten/typed forms Online Record Book (ORB) Enrolled 4-H members and adult volunteer leaders may access the Online Record Book. The system uses 4hOnline enrollment data to pre-fill in club and project information.

County Record Book Judging

Members may submit their 4-H Record Books for county competition. Books are judged on the members 4-H work, leadership and citizenship development, and personal growth. County level judging should be based on the Danish system with all books judged against a standard.
