Erik Porse joined the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) on Jan. 11 as director of the California Institute for Water Resources (CIWR).

UC ANR is excited to welcome Erik Porse as the director of the California Institute for Water Resources today (Jan. 11).

This odd pattern that has shown up on polyethylene irrigation tubing was sent in by an observant Santa Paula grower. The fruit trees were covered with aphids and there was sooty mold growing on the honey dew dripping onto the tubing.

UC Davis graduate and undergraduate students are invited to apply for the 2023 Davis Botanical Society grants, given annually to support field-oriented botany projects.

FRASS: noun. A term meaning debris or excrement left by the larval stage of insects especially caterpillars and wood boring insects. It can be visible to the naked eye depending on the size of the insect leaving its' debris.

The Nevada-Placer-Yuba Disaster Livestock Access Pass Program operated for its second year in 2022. This program, available to commercial livestock producers in the three counties, is the first (and so far, only) multi-county program in California.

Power has been restored to the 2nd Street Building in Davis and it is fully operational. If you are planning to work at the ANR Building, you may do so. 2nd Street is closed currently to all traffic for a section of road west of our office, between L St and Cantrill Drive.
