Ongoing research

Warmer weather means many pests are flying and joining you indoors while you shelter-in-place or outdoors while you are getting some exercise or keeping connected yet socially distant from the neighbors. Lately you may have seen some large, leggy insects bumbling around on your walls and windows.

They don't taste like chicken. The larvae and pupae of the Asian giant hornet taste like French fries.

Here we are, each of us in our own little cocoon, creating a new normalat least for a while. The perfect antidote to our new existence is to be surrounded by the comfort and beauty of our own gardens.

Hedgerows are an approved practice under California Department of Agriculture's Healthy Soils Grant Program. That means, growers are eligible to receive grant funding for planting hedgerows.
