About the Event
Prune Research Tour – Part 1 Scheduled for June 24
Prune growers, industry professionals, and interested stakeholders are invited to attend Prune Research Tour – Part 1 on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. This field-based educational event will highlight current prune research, orchard management topics, and grower experiences.
The tour will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Vereschagin Farms, where participants will learn about sunburn in prunes from Becky Wheeler-Dykes, view new variety rows, and hear a grower perspective on orchard management.
The second stop begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Abbey of New Clairvaux and will feature a discussion on Phellinus heart rot or seasonal prune growth and development, with the final speaker to be announced.
Lunch will be provided at noon in the orchard at the Abbey, courtesy of the California Prune Board. Sandwiches will be provided by Roxy's Deli in Los Molinos. Participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for lunch in the orchard.
Advance registration is requested. Register NOW. For questions, please contact Jaime Ott at njott@ucanr.edu or 530-527-3101.
We look forward to seeing you in the orchard for a morning of research updates, discussion, and networking with fellow prune growers and industry professionals.
