Rangeland Soil Health Workshop

Please join UC Cooperative Extension for a workshop on rangeland soil health. Attendees will increase their knowledge about the latest science related to rangeland soil health, with a focus on how that science applies to management. Participants will expand their understanding about the effectiveness and value of riparian restoration. Audience members will also increase their knowledge of and ability to access technical service providers who can help them implement soil health practices.

Intended audience: livestock producers, rangeland landowners, and land management agencies/non-profits that work with livestock producers. 

Topics covered will include:

• Managing California annual rangelands from the soil up - Toby O'Geen, UC Davis
• Riparian restoration and hedgerow site tour - Rancher
• Rangeland compost and seeding: effects on soil microbial diversity and plant communities - Ava-Rose Beech, UC Davis
• Soils, grass, and grazing: Decisions that matter - Leslie Roche, UC Davis
• Implementing soil health practices and monitoring through Marin RCD - Fiona O'Neill, Marin RCD
• Introductions of local RCDs, NRCS, MALT, and other technical services providers who have soil health funding opportunities

Registration, coffee, and light snacks from 9 - 9:30am. Workshop begins at 9:30am.

Address will be sent to those who register. No smoking and no pets allowed at venue.

Cost: $15, includes coffee, morning snacks, and lunch. Scholarships are available if you aren't able to cover the cost.
