Central Sierra: 2025 Annual Reports (County Spotlights)

During the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year, Amador County, as part of the Central Sierra Multi-County Partnership (CS MCP), delivered cooperative extension programming to schools, orchard managers, grape growers, forest land owners, livestock producers, county agriculture, adult residents and the county's youth, with observable impact. 

The 2025 Spotlight on Amador County is a snapshot of the impact of UC ANR's mission on the people of the region. UC ANR cultivates thriving communities, sustainable agriculture, resilient ecosystems, and economic prosperity in California through development and sharing of equitable and collaborative science-based solutions that have local, national and global impact. 


During the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year, El Dorado County, as part of the Central Sierra Multi-County Partnership (CS MCP), delivered cooperative extension programming that worked to increase agricultural efficiency and profitability, increase ecological sustainability of agriculture, improve water use efficiency, support the foothill wine grape industry, cultivate teen leaders and educate students, build community partnerships, improve food safety and security, promote healthy community, and build resilience to wildfire. 

The 2025 Spotlight on El Dorado County is a snapshot of the impact of UC ANR's mission on the people of the region. 


During the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year, Calaveras County, as part of the Central Sierra Multi-County Partnership (CS MCP), delivered cooperative extension programming to growers, including vineyard, olive orchard, Christmas tree farm, stone fruit orchard managers. Topics included farm start up, crop nutrition, orchard establishment, irrigation scheduling, weed management, pest issues, and cultivar selection. Gardeners, home preservers, and youth were also reached and served by programs, as illustrated in this Spotlight on Calaveras County, a snapshot of the impact of UC ANR's mission on the people of the region. 


During the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year, Tuolumne County, as part of the Central Sierra Multi-County Partnership (CS MCP), delivered cooperative extension programming including one-on-one consultations with new and existing farmers and growers related to farm startup, crop nutrition, orchard establishment, cultivar selection, irrigation, weed and mildew management. Forest landowners were empowered to actively manage their forestland and increase the resiliency of their forests. Youth received physical activity, garden, and cooking lessons and participated in 4-H. County residents received science-based gardening and food preservation and food safety education.
