About the Event

Program: This immediately useful learning experience begins with Master Gardener and Master Pruner Susan Pearson talking about the considerations in pruning (mostly) non-woody shrubs (think Salvia) before their winter resting time. She will discuss when to prune, how to prune and what tools to use. She will demonstrate in the garden and the group will then break into small groups and participants will prune in the garden under the expert supervision of members of the MG Pruning Guild. This is an excellent way to learn the “whys and wherefores” of the healthy and necessary pruning of non-woody plants in the late autumn, preferably after summer blooming is finished. Be ready to do some pruning!

We will supply coffee and snacks but bring your sharp hand pruners and gloves and dress protectively and for the weather.

Speaker: Susan Pearson, a Master Gardener who is also a Master Pruner, teaches and supervises pruning and has, on her own property, hundreds of fruit trees to prune!

Cost: $20.00 CASH/CHECK ONLY - to be paid at the entrance gate
