Rancher Roundtable - with the California Wolf Project at UC Berkeley - October 16, 2025

UC Cooperative Extension hosted the Rancher Roundtable with the California Wolf Project at UC Berkeley on October 16, 2025 in Sierraville. This session featured Arthur Middleton and Kaggie Orrick with the California Wolf Project at UC Berkeley, for an evening with dinner, updates, and discussion in Sierra Valley.

Middleton and Orrick shared highlights from their recent work, including:

- Preliminary results from the wolf camera trap grid;

- Findings from the February and August 2025 cluster investigations; and 

- Insights from their questionnaire on the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Pilot Compensation Program. 

 

Most importantly, the Roundtable was an opportunity for ranchers to ask questions, share experiences, and discuss what’s needed on the ground—both across Northern California and right here in Sierra Valley.
