Aside from school field trips and volunteer days, we offer several u-pick and produce pop-up events throughout the year. Depending on produce availability, we typically offer several avocado pop-up sales, a pumpkin u-pick, a Fall veggie u-pick, a persimmon u-pick, a cherimoya pop-up sale, and a potato u-pick. We also host our Annual Urban Ag and Garden Expo on the first Saturday of October. All proceeds benefit our outreach and extension activities for the local community. Urban Watershed Resilience Program – Be part of an interactive water-tasting experience. Taste several samples, vote for your favorite, then go to the barn at 12:00 p.m. for the reveal.

UC Master Gardener Low-Water Use Landscape Information –Learn about low-water use plants and find out how to grow them as you stroll through our front landscape teeming with beautiful examples. Docent-ledTours every ½ hour starting at10am (see above)
UC Master Gardener Information Booth – Have a garden or pest question? Visit the UC Master Gardeners of Orange County booth for gardening advice. Be sure to stay for one of the research-based garden talks at the following times:10am, 11:30am, 12:30pm
South Coast REC Seasonal Fruit Tasting – What fruit trees will grow successfully in this area, visit our seasonal tasting booth to talk with our South Coast REC Steward volunteers to find out more.

Do you work for a school, place of worship, or a community center and you’ve thought about growing food for your community? Do you have a large backyard space and want to take your green thumb to the next level and sell your produce at market or grow enough to sustain your household throughout the year? Then register today for the Small and Backyard Farming workshop!
Our workshop features UC Ag & Natural Resource advisors and professionals who will help lay an introductory foundation on things to consider like site planning, what tools you’d need, irrigation, Integrated Pest Management, mulching, composting, small space hydroponics, and more! Lunch and snacks provided, scholarship consideration available by request at jrsuppes@ucanr.edu.
