They were joined by Executive Director of County Cooperative Extension Janine Woods, UC Cooperative Extension specialist Keith Taylor, UCCE forestry advisor Yana Valachovic, Katie Low of UC ANR Fire Network and Hanif Houston of UC ANR Innovate for a day of visits with legislators and their staff. The UC ANR contingent showcased ANR’s impact in legislative districts across California and asked for continued support in this upcoming state budget cycle.

The group highlighted the work of our UC ANR Fire Network, ag tech innovation, workforce and community development efforts, and our Strategic Vision 2040.

In total, the group held 18 meetings, including discussions with Senator Josh Becker and Assemblymembers Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, Heather Hadwick and Esmeralda Soria.

“We are excited to have made new connections with legislators and staff and look forward to sharing our science-backed research to shape policy that positively impacts the lives of all Californians.,” Lopez said.
