Following a national search, I am pleased to announce that Jennifer Bunge has accepted the position of Associate Vice President (AVP) for Finance and Capital Planning, effective July 1, 2026.
A UC ANR veteran of more than 20 years, Jennifer has held several key leadership roles, including interim AVP for Finance and Capital Planning, deputy AVP of Business Operations, and executive director of Resource Planning and Management. Throughout her tenure, she has modernized business operations, strengthened long-range financial planning, and established UC ANR’s first intellectual property and technology transfer framework. Her work has been instrumental in integrating UC ANR within the University of California system while supporting our statewide research, extension and public service mission.
As Associate Vice President, Jennifer will provide executive leadership for UC ANR’s financial strategy, capital and long-range planning, and infrastructure investment. She will oversee essential enterprise function – including budget planning, accounting, procurement, real estate and facility development – ensuring that we invest strategically to meet the evolving needs of California communities.
Jennifer is a Certified Public Accountant with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in marketing and accounting from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She has also completed executive leadership programs through Massachusetts Institute of Technology, UC Berkeley and the UC-Coro Systemwide Leadership Collaborative.
