Kathy Eftekhari

Kathy Eftekhari, Ph.D., has nearly 40 years of organizational development and operations experience within the private, public and nonprofit sectors.  She has led numerous revitalization efforts within a variety of industries across the US and abroad.  Kathy has held positions in teaching, higher educational administration, economic development, and non-profit administration.  Prior to joining UC ANR as Chief of Staff in 2019, Kathy served as a Senior Organizational Consultant within UCOP’s Strategy & Program Management Office for six years.  She helped to develop and led UCOP’s strategic planning process and facilitated a number of policy and organizational reviews on campuses and at the Office of the President.  She is currently a member of UC ANR’s executive team and regularly facilitates a variety of strategic initiatives across the UC ANR system.

Kathy’s areas of expertise include strategic planning, program and organizational development, and project and operations management.   Kathy holds a BA in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CSU Chico, an MA in Educational Administration/Policy Studies from CSU Sacramento, and a Ph.D., in Educational Administration/Research and Policy Analysis from UC Berkeley.
