Emma works in the Office of Pesticide Information and Coordination in UC IPM, reviewing UC ANR publications to make sure that any pesticides mentioned are registered in California and allowed to be used in the way suggested. She also helps run trainings each year covering UC ANR's Policy on Pesticides & Related Chemicals: Use and Experimentation (Section 281) and conducts a yearly survey of what pesticide products are available to consumers in California stores.
Emma is also a communicator with the Western IPM Center, writing feature stories and technical publications, managing a website, and hosting a podcast.
