Become a Certified California Naturalist immersed in the natural history and unparalleled beauty of the Point Reyes National Seashore.
The California Naturalist Program at Point Reyes is a Saturday field-based lecture series provided in partnership between the University of California Environmental Stewards programs and the Point Reyes National Seashore Association. The mission of the program is to foster a diverse community of naturalists and promote stewardship of California's natural resources through education and service.
Over the course of five separate Saturdays between April 11 - May 16, students will experience Point Reyes National Seashore in ways the casual visitor cannot, working in areas less traveled alongside some of California's most knowledgeable naturalists. About the Instructor: Dr. Chris Pincetich works for the Point Reyes National Seashore Association, The Oceanic Society, and Sea Turtles Forever as a marine biologist and environmental educator. Chris has a doctorate in Environmental Toxicology from the University of California, Davis and a B.S. in Marine Biology from University of California, Santa Cruz. His passion for promoting ocean and sea turtle conservation has been shared through speaking engagements ranging from international scientific conferences to elementary school classrooms.
Organization Description: PRNSA is a cooperating association of the National Park Service. Working in partnership with Point Reyes National Seashore and the public, PRNSA preserves, restores and maintains wildlife habitat, trails, and historic sites in this beautiful coastal park. Year-round environmental education programs help children and adults deepen their understanding of nature and inspire the next generation of park stewards.
