The Hansen Agricultural Research and Extension Center (HAREC) is located in Camarillo, about 9 miles from the Pacific Ocean.  HAREC is one of 10 Research and Extension Centers (RECs) operated by the UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) division.  Each REC has unique ecological resources and connects research and extension activities to regional challenges and issues.

Weather Station Network 

With distinct microclimates influenced by a diverse geography and proximity to the ocean, UC ANR is rolling out new ET-weather stations in Ventura County to improve irrigation management in Ventura County.  

These stations now support irrigation apps for crops like strawberries, vegetables and avocados, helping growers, farm managers and irrigators use data-driven information for determining how long to irrigate. UC ANR hopes to expand the network and is looking for local hosts.
