About the Event

Baby Blue Eyes (Nemophila menziesii) wildflowers at Hopland Research and Extension Center

Enjoy the beauty of Hopland REC at your own pace on this self-guided hike. On arrival at 10am you will be greeted by staff and given a map of the walking route. This route takes you on a loop along dirt roads, climbing to over 1000ft where you'll enjoy a view across the Hopland valley towards Duncan's Peak. The route is 4.35 miles with an elevation gain of around 600ft. The return part of the route will be along the main University Road.

On departure, by 12pm, you will sign out of the property. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch or snacks to enjoy along the trail.

You may come across sheep, cattle and guardian dogs during your hike, appropriate behavior around these animals will be shared on your arrival.

Due to our use of guardian dogs to protect the sheep, NO DOGS are allowed on the property.

Equity pricing allows you to pay between $0-$10 per person.
