UCCE created opportunities for livestock to producers to learn about a new NRCS funding during an in person session on May 27 in Loyalton California and on a webinar co-hosted with California Cattlemen's Association on May 28, 2025. During these sessions NRCS shared about their Livestock-Predator Interaction Management Initiative that is focused on reducing conflict between livestock and wolves by utilizing non-lethal deterrents and provide assistance for better management of livestock to reduce interactions with predators. Additionally, Farm Service Agency participated in the webinar to answer questions regarding signing up for USDA programs. With limited program outreach UCCE and CCA asked for the deadline of May 30 to be extended so additional ranchers could have ample time to consider participating in the program.
