About the Event

Happy New Year! Yolo County residents are invited to learn about fruit tree care with Bonnie Berman, UC Master Gardener of Yolo County at the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency Bauer Building in Woodland. This free interactive class is presented by the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency and will focus on fruit tree pruning, common fruit tree pests and how to control them, as well as tips on how to improve the lifespan of your fruit trees. Winter is the optimal time to care for your fruit trees to help them stay healthy and productive.

The Bauer Building is located at 137 N. Cottonwood Street in Woodland, next to the Hanna and Herber Bauer Memorial Community Garden. A free informal garden and orchard tour and Q&A discussion will commence following the class, weather permitting.

This class is available to all and is part of Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency commitment to providing education to help residents eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and live healthier lives. Pre-registration is required by January 30 and can be completed by contacting Nick Gazda at nick.gazda@yolocounty.org or at (530) 666-8429.

Community garden classes are offered for free throughout the year by Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA). Interested residents can learn more about the garden activities and classes by visiting the website: www.yolocounty.org/garden.
