Gardening for Year Round Meals: It’s Time to Plant Seeds!
About the Event
Looking forward to harvesting carrots, radishes, beets, lettuces, kale, chard and collards this winter? Now is the time to plant your seeds. UC Master Gardener of Yolo, Karen Slinkard will share tips for sowing seeds successfully when it’s still hot during a free, hands-on workshop at Davis United Methodist’s Grace Garden located behind the church.
Karen, who has studied agriculture and grown food in Yolo County for more than 50 years, enjoys sharing her experience and tricks for success with new and veteran gardeners alike.
Grace Garden, at 1620 Anderson Rd. in Davis, is a volunteer-run, 5/8-acre garden that provides thousands of pounds of fresh produce to help feed the hungry every year. The garden also provides teaching and outreach to educate the community about gardening, the environment, and sustainable practices.
