About the Event
Amador County Master Gardeners will cover practical ways to begin composting at home. In this informative class we will demonstrate the “Dump and Run” or “Cold” composting method. This process requires minimum effort to start and maintain and is an easy way to turn your kitchen scraps into ‘Garden Gold’ instead of adding to the landfill. In this informative class, we will demonstrate how to build, maintain and harvest your compost pile.
Class objectives:
❖ Why home composting is important
❖ What can be composted
❖ How to use compost, along with its benefits
❖ Demonstrate “Dump and Run” of “Cold” composting methods and how they work
❖ Tips, suggestions and methods designed to guarantee success
Note: This class will be held outside and in-person. Please bring your own chair, sunscreen, hat, and water. There will be no extra seating provided for this class.
