Say you have a friend/spouse/partner/all of the above who loves to spend time outside getting dirty in the garden.
And you keep thinking about what they might appreciate as a gift this holiday season. But you have no clue what’s what! This week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners, our renown expert Thanksgiving gardener/chefs, Bill Brooks and Mark Oertel, now put on their Santa hats to think about “What would Santa bring my gardening buddies?” Well, there are always tools! Tools to cut, saw, dig, carry, move, light, and measure with. Insert your own taste into choices to beautify their garden (so they will forever think of you!). For natural gardeners, think about feeders of all sorts. However, be cognizant of local ordinances limiting feeding of wild birds. What would they wear? Sun protection is key. What would they read? UCANR has wonderful publications. Where else do you think we learn what we know as Master Gardeners? Oh yes!
