About Us

The UC Master Food Preserver Program of Sonoma County started in 2020 with a core of dedicated volunteers who have been trained in food safety and food preservation techniques.

What do UC Master Food Preserver volunteers do?

  • Answer food preservation question via telephone (707-565-3026) or email ( mfpsc@ucanr.edu ) throughout the year
  • Provide research-based information on our website
  • Write articles for local media outlets and for our website

Who can be a UC Master Food Preserver volunteer?

  • Residents of Sonoma County who have an interest in teaching others about food safety and food preservation can apply to become a UC Master Food Preserver.  Watch for information about the upcoming certification training program.
