ePerformance resumes for non-represented staff

It's been quite a year, but one thing that hasn't changed is the need to assess our contributions to the organization. The ePerformance module in UCPath will be opened for the performance period of April 1, 2020, through March 31, 2021, for all non-represented staff.

As you know, last year's performance documents were suspended and will soon be canceled in UCPath to clear the way for the new cycle. An email will be generated to both you and your supervisor from UCPath-Notifications when your performance document is canceled. No action needs to be taken on your part at this time. Please disregard the email.

If you or your supervisor submitted an ePerformance document in UCPath last year and you received the cancellation notification, you can find it in the My Historical Performance Docs section of the Performance Workcenter. Trainings are scheduled next month to help you navigate to your previous document as well as learn more about the process and expectations. Stay tuned for upcoming communications.

If you have questions about ePerformance, email humanresources@ucanr.edu.

Staff-performance appraisal webinars offered March 20, for supervisors March 26

ANR Human Resources will host two more Zoom webinars for staff and supervisors in March:

  • Employee Role: March 20, Wed., 10 a.m.–11 a.m.
  • Supervisor Role: March 26, Tuesday, 3 p.m.–4:30 p.m.

This year ANR Human Resources has modified the Employee Performance Appraisal Form to align with the UC system-wide core competencies and to prepare supervisors and employees for the future online appraisal process. They will discuss what's new during the webinars.

Supervisors need only to participate in a supervisor session.

For those unable to participate during the scheduled times, recorded versions of both webinars – Employee Role and Supervisor Role – have been uploaded to the ANR HR website and are available for viewing: https://ucanr.edu/sites/ANRSPU/Supervisor_Resources/Performance_Management.

The staff performance review period runs from April 1, 2018, through March 31, 2019. An annual appraisal should be completed for all ANR staff employees, including represented and non-represented, career and contract employees with at least six months of service as of March 31, 2019.

More information about the annual process, including timelines, guidelines and Performance Appraisal Tools are available on the ANR Human Resources website: http://ucanr.edu/sites/ANRSPU/Supervisor_Resources/Performance_Management.

If you have questions regarding the appraisal process, please contact Mary Vlandis at maryvlandis@ucanr.edu.

ANR timeline for staff performance appraisals differs from campuses

On March 5, ANR Human Resources launched the 2017-18 Annual Staff Performance Appraisal Process. The UC Davis campus has also announced their annual “call” for staff performance appraisals. Please be aware that ANR has a separate process and timeline. Please do not utilize the UC Davis online system for submitting Summary of Accomplishments and Employee Performance Appraisals.

It is critical that all units meet the May 14 deadline for submitting proposed overall ratings.

This timeline is subject to change with prior notice:

  • Mar 1-Mar 23: Employee prepares Summary of Accomplishments (SOA) Supervisor option: Employee prepares Self-Assessment using the Performance Appraisal form
  • Mar 23-May 11: Supervisor meets with employee to review SOA Supervisor drafts Employee Performance Appraisal Supervisor confirms agreement on proposed rating with second-level supervisor
  • May 14: Proposed overall ratings and draft appraisals due to ANR Human Resources
  • May 14-Jun 1: HR reviews proposed ratings for consistency, and confirms final ratings
  • Jun 1-Jul 31: Supervisor meets with employee to communicate overall rating

If you are uncertain about the process, please reach out to your supervisor or contact Mary Vlandis at (530) 750-1321 or maryvlandis@ucanr.edu

Forms and more information regarding the ANR process are available on the Staff Human Resources webpage http://ucanr.edu/sites/ANRSPU/Supervisor_Resources/Performance_Management.

Make time for staff performance appraisals in March

The annual performance appraisal is an opportunity for staff and supervisors to recognize accomplishments, identify opportunities to build skills, and align individual efforts to high-level unit and division goals. Take time in the next month to review and reflect on the past year, and plan your future work with your supervisor.

The staff performance review period runs from April 1, 2017, through March 31, 2018. An annual appraisal should be completed for all ANR staff employees, including represented and non-represented, career and contract employees with at least six months of service as of March 31, 2018.

The recommended first step for the process is for employees to complete a Summary of Accomplishments. This year ANR supervisors have the option to have their staff prepare a self-appraisal in lieu of the summary of accomplishments using the 2017-18 Employee Performance Appraisal Form.

Upcoming webinars

ANR Human Resources will host Zoom webinars for staff and supervisors during the month of March. Please hold one of these dates/times on your calendar. (Zoom meeting details will be sent prior to the first session.)

Employee Role: March 1, Thursday, 10 a.m.–11 a.m.

Employee Role: March 14, Wednesday, 3 p.m.–4 p.m.

Supervisor Role: March 23, Friday, 10 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

Supervisor Role: March 28, Wednesday, 1 p.m.–2:30 p.m.

If you are a supervisor, you only need to participate in a supervisor session.

More information about the annual process, including timelines, guidelines and Performance Appraisal Tools are available on the ANR Human Resources website http://ucanr.edu/sites/ANRSPU/Supervisor_Resources/Performance_Management.

Note: ANR staff based at the Office of the President will follow the UCOP-HR performance process with separate trainings, timelines and forms.

If you have questions regarding the appraisal process, please contact Mary Vlandis at maroberts@ucanr.edu or Jodi Rosenbaum at jrosenbaum@ucanr.edu.
