2025-2026 enrollment is open!

Become a 4-H Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with 4-H!

Adult volunteers are the heart of our program. They lead projects, mentor youth, and help create a safe and positive learning environment.

This page explains who can volunteer, what is required, and how to get started.

Who Can Volunteer?

Adults who are 18 years or older may apply to become 4-H volunteers.

Volunteers may serve in roles such as:

  • Club leader

  • Project leader

  • Activity or event volunteer

  • Committee member

  • County-level leader

No previous 4-H experience is required — just a willingness to support youth and follow program guidelines.

Our Commitment to Youth Safety

All 4-H volunteers must complete a screening process before working with youth.

This helps ensure:

  • Youth safety

  • Program integrity
