Megan Ma used 3D imaging techniques to map this millipede anatomy. For this particular image, she took a 3D x-ray scan of the male flat-backed millipede (Pseudopolydesmus serratus) and reconstructed it into a 3D figure. “Visualizing millipede anatomy using this method allows me to view the internal anatomy of the specimen without dissection,” she said.
