The San Mateo County Fair is a week of fun for the whole family!

4-H members across the county compete in youth exhibition categories, including animal showmanship, arts & crafts, and food science. All 4-H youth members are encouraged to participate.

Two 4-H fundraisers are also held during this event: Pen Pride and Cake Booth. Pen Pride is a market animal (steer, hog, sheep, etc) raised by local 4-H club members. During fair, the public guesses the weight of the animal and 4-H members man the Pen Pride booth. Each club also takes a shift at the cake booth to sell cake. All money earned goes back to 4-H educational programs in our county.
