Master Gardener program and the California Center for Urban Horticulture have partnered to put on Your Sustainable Backyard: Roses on Friday April 30th at UC Davis.  We’ve hosted a ‘Rose Day’ event in the past and are very excited about this new workshop as we’ll be very hands on with rose propagation, pruning and pest identification.  We’ll not only be touring the Foundation Plant Services 8 acres of award winning roses, we’ll be working and learning in the field too!

Whether you’re new to roses or a seasoned veteran, we’re sure you’ll take something interesting from the workshop to apply in your own home garden.

Your registration of $45 includes morning coffee, lunch, and a fabulous mini floribunda rose plant!  Please join us – you’ll leave not only having stopped to smell the roses, but with new and exciting information about roses and rose varieties.  You can pay by credit card or check, download the flier, agenda and directions at http://ccuh.ucdavis.edu/public.  In addition to Friday’s workshop, we’ll host a sale of stunning rose plants in the late afternoon on Friday and again on Saturday from 10-4 PM.  Both sales are open to the public.  A list of available rose varieties and photographs will be posted in early April.
