Let's Start with Search Engine Optimization (SEO):
"Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's algorithmic search results. Google analyzes over 200 “signals” about your web site, and there can be up to 50 variants within each signal. Trying to optimize your site can get very messy if you chase the algorithm."
In English, that means it's much better to have unique, rich metadata attached to your site pages. There are two ways of doing this:
- By Adding unique informative keywords related to your site,
- And by adding a rich well thought out description to convey the content of your site.
You will find these fields on the "Properties" of your page in Site Builder. You now have the option to add this metadata on your homepage, and choose to have it included on all of your site pages. (We will recommend that you add unique metadata per page if you can.) Here's a peek:

Open Graph - Better Social Networking
Open Graph, or OG, is a simple protocol that will make your web page look rich and dynamic in most social network platforms. The process is very simple: Add a title, Description, and image as well as choosing the type of content you have in your Site Builder "Properties" page. Once you post a link to your site or individual page, you will have a rich preview showing a title, image and description. For more information please visit our "OG" help page.
Broken links - finally a reprieve
If your site has moved, but has maintained the same url, you can now redirect the broken link to a new proper page. To do so, you can paste the old url in the appropriate pages "properties". This redirection will also work for any sites using "http://groups.ucanr.org,". Unfortunately we not have a batch process to handle multiple pages at the same. Here's a peek at what it looks like in your page properties:
QR codes everywhere! And a mini url for every page!
That's right, every single page of your site has a unique QR code and mini url. Simply go to your page properties, scroll down all the way, and there you'll your unique QR code and mini url. If you'd like to direct people to your homepage, simply grab the one from you "home" Properties. Try it out!
