Olive Oil Commission of California 2026–2027 Research Solicitation
The Olive Oil Commission of California (OOCC) invites research proposals that control of the following existing or potential threats to the industry:
- Research How to Grab Carbon Money
- Understanding Sap Analysis
- New Canopy Management Trial
- Loosening Agents like Accede
- Nitrogen/Nutrient Analysis Oil yield analysis 10,000 acres and everyone sharing tissues vs yield and finding sweet ranges on elements
- Foliar Sprays and their effectiveness efficacy for absorption and if it helps with yield
- Anything to help hold the bloom on the plants
- Super high-density bloom volume self-fertile? They are only self-fertile to a small degree
- More consistent yields and then it all falls off. Another 2% would make a huge difference
- Green Olive Knot – showing up on fruit; possible reduced efficacy of copper treatment?
- Neofabraea Treatments
- Wider range of pesticide options for organic and conventional
- Detecting residues in oil

Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research – Rapid Outcomes from Agricultural Research (ROAR) Program
The Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) is now accepting applications for the Rapid Outcomes from Agricultural Research (ROAR) program. This program provides urgent, short-term funding to support research and outreach in response to emerging or unexpected threats to U.S. agriculture and food systems. ROAR accelerates rapid scientific response when new pests, pathogens, or diseases threaten crops, livestock, and rural livelihoods—bridging the gap until longer-term funding becomes available.
Funding Areas & Priorities
- Response, Prevention, and Mitigation – Projects that rapidly address newly emerging pests or pathogens affecting crops or livestock.
- Rapid Research Deployment – Efforts that generate data, tools, or management strategies within 24 months.
Program Details
- Grant Amounts: Up to $250,000 (1:1 match required)
- Project Duration: 1 – 2 years
- Application Process: Submit a one-page concept note through FFAR’s Grants Management portal. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal.
