Dear Community,
Connecting with like-minded people is one of the top reasons individuals join a California Naturalist or Climate Stewards course. Your support of UC Environmental Stewards powers a small but mighty team anchoring one of the largest collective impact networks of its kind. Just five community education specialists and one academic coordinator support over 70 partner organizations across California—ensuring high-quality learning experiences. They train instructors, review curricula, manage grants, evaluate outcomes, and coordinate events. Your gift sustains this dedicated team and the network they make possible—fostering lifelong learning, stewardship, and shared purpose statewide.

In challenging times, UC Environmental Stewards shines as a beacon of clarity and connection. When facts are in doubt, we rely on observation and science. When division grows, we lift the interconnections that unite us. When trust falters, we lead with integrity and shared values. This is a moment to turn frustration into action. Through education and community stewardship, our team, partners, and alumni are building a more just, resilient, and sustainable future. Your gift directly supports the training, tools, and partnerships needed to inspire hope, discovery, and action across California.

The success of UC Environmental Stewards depends on the strength of our learning resources. The newly released Second Edition of The California Naturalist Handbook by Greg de Nevers, Deborah Stranger Edelman, and Adina Merenlender offers expanded, updated content and remains the essential guide to California’s natural history. We're also developing an audio version of Climate Stewardship to expand access. Our two signature events—Regional Rendezvous and the Statewide Conference—serve as classrooms without walls, offering rich field experiences and peer connections. These resources thrive thanks to the dedication of our team—and the generous support of donors like you.
