Continuing our commitment to deploying Cooperative Extension (CE) specialists and advisors to address critical issues, ANR is soliciting proposals for these CE positions. The new 2016 call aims to identify positions for strengthening and rebuilding the ANR network to address programmatic gaps and emerging needs. To continue our aggressive effort in hiring Cooperative Extension Advisors and Specialists, I am announcing the release of positions for future rounds of hiring. These positions have been through a thorough process of proposal and review. The more than 120 proposals for these CE positions were developed in consultation with our stakeholders. The public comment period for the 2014 UC Cooperative Extension positions call has been completed, as of July 21. These comments are posted on the 2014 Call for Positions web page, and will be considered by the position review groups, UC ANR Program Council and Vice President Allen-Diaz. A diverse array of the Division's stakeholders actively participated in this process and we appreciate their interest and value their feedback.
The next step in our process is the internal review by UCCE county/multi-county partnership directors, UC ANR program teams, and the deans' offices from ANR affiliated colleges and schools. This process concludes on Monday, Aug. 18, with comments due...

In 2011, UC ANR created the Taxonomy and Personnel System (TPS) to inventory and report the collective expertise within the Division. You may wonder, “Who else works in urban agriculture, or in livestock and dairy, or in community development, or with watersheds, or with beneficial insects, etc.?” With the Taxonomy system, you can click on any such category, and many more, to get a list of names and/or display them on a GIS map!
